R Heroes for R Main
So i'm new to the game (not literally, just experience wise) and i have a few questions as a R/Me
1 - Would be wise to change 2nd profession (i don't have Factions) ?
2 - Can R Heroes have a pet along with them just like my main?
3 - If i use Read the Wind, it buffs every R in the party right? Does that works for any ''preparation'' skill?
Now, assuming that 2's answer would be yes,
4 - Does Comfort Animal heals all the pets on the team or just my pet?
5 - My heroes lack a 2nd profession, how good or bad would it be to have a full R team? (7more pets for extra damage, i would spam Comfort for heal and could Read the Wind to boost Hs attack if using bow)
6 - Can i add my Heroes pets to HoM under the Fellowship category, in order to get the ''X Companions'' achievement for Gw2? (I think i will end up playing it, but won't be soon, just 1-2months from now).
Also I only have Ferocious Attack as Elite Skill (for pet), which one should i consider being a R main? I only have Prophecies, Nightfall and EoN, didn't do any Prof Quest on this Character and did more than 50% on the other 2games.

I can address some of those;
any character with either r/ or /r can have a pet. Only your character can name your pet (heroes pets will remain whatever type of pet they are, eg: moa, hearty dune lizard, elder wolf etc). You can only put pets in your HoM that YOU have, so no hero pets, though you can take them to the menagerie and show them to the trainer (if you get them to level 20 you can then charm them with your main, before that you will need to level them up) and then you can charm them yourself.
as for healing on pets there are a few skills:
comfort animal which will allow you to take your pet with you, but will only revive YOUR pet
Heal as one (elite) will allow you to revive YOUR pet when it dies
revive animal which will revive all dead pets in a very small area
companionship will also heal you if you have your pet along
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Pets
a full 8 pet party?....not usually recommended (especially for professions like monks as they should be putting their points in healing and not ranger skills). Some professions can get away with a pet, while others like monks should stick to monking.
When you ascend (wen no su--factions) you can change your 2ndary anytime you are in a town (you will need to do a few quests in prophecies to unlock the other 2ndaries for free or you can go to the temple of Balthazar and pay for it)....so /me is ok for now. My guildee has r/me and uses the mesmer skills for more interuptions (and sometimes conjure phantasm ). It really depends on what you are doing and what you want to do as there are many choices for 2ndaries for rangers.
will let others answer the more specific questions and skill recommendations

1 - Rangers tend to be pretty self-sufficient but, if you want a secondary profession, I would recommend:
/Mo for some hex removal, condition removal (Mending Touch is affected by Expertise), or re-usable resurrection skills
/Rt for weapon spells (like spinter weapon) or re-usable resurrection skills
/E for one of the Conjure spells which gives more elemental damage
Actually, a lot of secondary professions can work, but don't feel like you have to use one in order to be efficient.
2 - Yes.
This is unrelated, but if you make a PvP-only character then it will automatically have a level 20 Elder Wolf which you can put in your Menagerie. And, if you complete a few quests in the Underworld elite area then you can unlock a level 20 Black Widow of a random evolution. Also, if you complete The Beak of Darkness quest, from the Factions campaign, then you can unlock a level 20 Black Moa Bird.
I think those are the only level 20 pets that can be easily unlocked.
3 - Any preparation that YOU use will only affect YOU. However, if you use a Ranger spirit (such as Favorable Winds) then that will affect all creatures, whether friend or foe, in its range.
4 - Like cosyfiep said, Comfort Animal will only affect your own pet. Revive Animal is the only skill that can influence multiple animal companions that are allied to you but not under your control.
5 - A team of 8 Rangers would be bad in most cases. But if you have 2 healers of some type and 5 Ranger heroes that are all Beastmasters and then yourself than that might be ok.
If you are going give your hero a pet build then I would recommend this one:
Optional Skill, Optional Skill, Enraged Lunge, Run As One, Feral Aggression, Otyugh's Cry, Call of Protection, Comfort Animal. The attributes would be 14 or 15 Beast Mastery and 13 Expertise and, for the optional slots, you could use Distracting Shot, Throw Dirt, Antidote Signet, or a resurrection skill. Heal As One would also be a decent elite but at least one of your Rangers should have Enraged Lunge, just for the Deep Wound condition.
Also, keep in mind that there are only 3 Ranger heroes that can be unlocked (2 are in Nightfall and one in the Eye of the North). You can get a 4th Ranger hero by unlocking a Ritualist hero in Nightfall and then changing his primary profession to Ranger; he is the only hero that can change his primary profession. But, if you want a 5th Ranger hero then you would have to buy a Mercenary slot or you could just use a different profession, like a Paragon, with Ranger secondary and give him a pet.
6 - The wiki says that the pets need to be yours, and not from your heroes, but you can just go to the Menagerie with a level 20 pet from one of your heroes, talk to an NPC to have that pet unlocked, then charm that same pet, and then dedicate that pet to the Fellowship in your Hall of Monuments.
Hope that helps
Edit: I just noticed you said that you don't have the Factions campaign so I guess you can't get Heal As One but you may be able to unlock Enraged Lunge from EoTN. I'm not sure.

Thanks for the answers guys, some nice tips there. Just was wondering about the full R formation since i saw some1, somewhere, talking about it, don't remember where, and since i'm struggling some with my formation i found out i should do something (starting by addind a 2nd prof to everyone), but seems this one option is out. Guess i may try to search for some H pve builds around the forum then
One more question regarding the R, i don't have that many skills, should i buy them? I noticed from one other character that it is really cheap at first but it suddenly gets expensivier, so i try to avoid using gold for it. Also (sorry about the question, was away from this for quite sometime) you need 'special' points to get Elite skills right? How do i get more of those? And should i focus on Elite for my Main only or is it worth for H as well?

You can't. Factions skills require Factions, even if they appear in EotN.

Playing through Prophecies and doing as many quests as you can, especially in the early areas, is a good idea as they give skills as a reward. They tend to be the important/generally useful ones. Doing this a few times with different characters can unlock a variety of skills. For the skills you need to buy, I wouldn't bother unless you're reasonably sure you're going to want to use that skill at some point. Quite a number of skills nowadays aren't particularly interesting so there's no benefit in getting skills just for the sake of having them. An alternative is buying the skill unlock packs from the store (for real money) which will grant your heroes use of all skills that you have access to and will allow you to obtain skills via tomes (which you can buy from other players at much better prices than from the skill trainer).

Elite skills require Signets of Capture, which are available in infinite quantity from most skill trainers (usually starting from the ones in areas with level 20 foes). Buying them requires gold and a skill point, like any other skill. Unlocking elites is much the same as normal skills. Some will be useful in every situation, some will be useful sometimes/for some people, and some are so horrifically awful that they should never see the light of day. Obtain them if you think they'll be useful for you or are commonly used.
